"Fort Santiago"
Fort Santiago (Spanish: Fuerza de Santiago Tagalog: Moog ng Santiago) is a citadel first built by Spanish conquistador, Miguel López de Legazpi for the new established city of Manila in the Philippines. The defense fortress is part of the structures of the walled city of Manila referred to as Intramuros ("within the walls").
The fort is one of the most important historical sites in Manila. Several lives were lost in its prisons during the Spanish Colonial Period and World War II. José Rizal, the Philippines' national hero, was imprisoned here before his execution in 1896. The Rizal Shrine
museum displays memorabilia of the hero in their collection and the
fort features, embedded onto the ground in bronze, his footsteps
representing his final walk from his cell to the location of the actual
execution.

Mohammedan Malays who first inhabited the area.

"Rizal Shrine Intramuros"
The Rizal Shrine dedicated to the lifework of José Rizal is located on Santa Clara Street, Fort Santiago, Intramuros, Manila, 1002 Philippines.
This is a fortified complex which houses the building the Philippines' national hero spent his last night and where his family later found concealed in an oil lamp, the famous poem Mi último adiós
(My Last Farewell). The shrine is hohttp://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=6231067026112365819#editor/target=post;postID=5018087219887189450me to various memorabilia such as

"Intramuros: Baluarte De Santa Barbara"
The citadel of Santa Barbara is one of
the original buildings of Fuerza de Santiago (Fort Santiago). It faces
the infamous Pasig River and the rest of Manila. What amazed me with
this building is that it was once a dungeon from the late 15th century
to World War II. Below the railings are chambers with one common
entrance. Coins are cluttered on the floor thrown by tourists for
reasons that I'm not quite sure. It is currently under restoration so no
one had the chance to see the interior. I doubt this is one of the
despicable prisons in Philippine history, ceilings are low, no
ventilation & of course the stone-cold accomodation for the inmates.
I want to research to History of the Baluarte De Santa Barbara and when i want to learn to story of history. I am aware to about it World War II.

"The Dungeons"
he dungeons used to be the storage vaults and powder magazine of the
Baluarte De Santa Barbara. Because of dampness called by the humid
weather and the nearness of the vaults to the Pasig River, the Spaniards
decided to build a new powder magazine on top of the baluarte in 1715.
The vaults were converted into prison cells and storerooms when the
Casella del Castellano (Fort Commander's residence) was built in 1718.
I see to place in the Dungeon and when i look to place, there is nice. i want to see to place because i never see to place.
